The Society’s Research Collection is housed in the
Maryland Room of the Dorchester County Public Library, and is available
to the public during regular library hours. The collection is a valuable
resource for those researching genealogy and local history. It contains
an extensive compilation of County land abstracts, tombstone and bible
records, census results, local newspapers and maps, various wills and deeds,
personal papers, family histories, scrapbooks and other pamphlets.
Back issues of the Dorchester Genealogical Magazine can also be found there.
To help researchers who cannot visit the library, we can provide genealogical
research for you. This service is available for a fee. For
additional information on this service, please contact the Society’s office
at (410) 228-7953 or email to dchs@verizon.net.
